I’m Reneè Haywood-Nortje, founder of Velvet Essence, a proudly South African brand born from love, legacy, and a lifelong passion for beauty. Inspired by my elegant mother’s lessons in self-care and captivated by beauty icons like Anneline Kriel, I’ve always believed that true beauty begins within. After 39 years as an accountant, retirement became the perfect time to follow my heart. In August 2024, I created my first handmade perfume, Réanor, marking the start of a new chapter and the birth of Velvet Essence.

Today, our collection includes artisanal soaps, luxurious bath bombs, body lotions, and signature fragrances, all crafted with premium ingredients to nurture, uplift, and restore. Each product is made with care and intention, offering not just beauty but comfort and confidence.
